You should always consult with your registrar`s office about your choice of music at the marriage ceremony as there are restrictions on religious music being used in civil ceremonies. However this is not as restrictive as you might think as most of the incidental music used traditionally in church weddings are from secular sources. The Bridal March often used for the arrival of the bride is from a Wagner opera for example while the Mendelsohnn Wedding March is from his incidental music to Shakespeare`s Midsummer Night`s Dream (here played on my latest Roland FP7F piano). The Entry of the Queen of Sheba, another popular choice, also normally invokes no opposition from the registrar`s office, and some more examples are given of this in the organ section below. Even the ones illustrated in the organ selection below are not religious in character. Some are obviously not, but sound remarkably majestic when played in that context! Apart from the restriction against religion of course you are totally free to choose any music which will work well and add to the joy of the occasion! Be aware that I am not particularly good at punk rock and that recent pop ballads which have not had time to sink into the public consciouslness, may need to be sung rather than just played so that the message comes across
Your main problem is deciding whether you want me to play at the ceremony, while greeting your guests or entertaining them before the wedding breakfast, at the meal itself, or various combinations (you decide). I even have a spare instrument if a piano has to be in two separate rooms. I play for a very long time from my extensive repertoire of jazz standards, show tunes, film songs, light classics, pop ballads etc. but will always try to ensure your special requests are included, subject to them being available in print, available in time and practical to play on the instrument. If I happen to need to buy new music this is chargeable and in the case of the latest modern ballad by a guitarist composer may be more comprehensible if you arrange a guest to sing it with me! I have even played for the bride to sing a couple of great standard tunes to the groom at the time of the speeches, A small number of my own favourites are illustrated below, as you might hear them played by me on Roland piano in the course of the meal orat other stages of background music for your wedding celebrations but there are hundreds of tunes in my repertoire and I am also a good reader of new music. As Time Goes By - Embraceable You - I`ve got You Under My Skin - Deep_Purple - I can`t last a Day without You - Close to You - Alfie - Amapola - Sweet Lorraine - Love Story - Nobody Does it Better - Diamonds are Forever -

My Accordion option can give a very special flavour to your Cornish weddingTo give a unique continental atmosphere to your wedding celebrations you can also book me to play for you on my Roland FR7x accordion. This is a very versatile instrument particularly good for outdoor use and popular for adding a French or Italian flavour to your celebrations. I normally use it with no leads attached so it is just as adaptable to move around with as a normal accordion.. |
This very special Roland instrument is specially designed to match the tuning and reed characteristics of your particular style but I can also play a subtle back-up sound as of a small combo band of bass and guitar etc working with the accordion |

Various combinations of instruments can be used for a modest supplementary charge |

I am based in Falmouth Cornwall and my lowest rates are available anywhere within 35 miles of these locations, with just a small supplement for successively larger distances

| What Date and Day of the week | Obviously Bank Holidays may be more expensive, but I do also try to give a discount for weekday gigs Monday-Friday - also of course I need to know that I am available on your date and not already booked out. |
| Is there a decent quality instrument which can be used (Get an Expert Opinion though please!) | If there is a decent piano already in your venue I am more than delighted to use it and give you a discount forsaving on the considerable effort and extra time biinging and setting up my own piano. I do of course need an instrument that responds properly to my technique. |
| How long is event to take? | Obviously time will affect the quote to some extent, though I will work as long as it takes and as long as there is an appreciative audience! |
| Will I need to set up my piano much earlier? | Sometimes it is necessary to set up well before so as not to disturb your guests. I always try to aset up in good time before anyone arrives. |
